Adult Mermaid Lessons

What is included

Mermaids are amazing majestic creatures known best for their glimmering tails, strong swimming and alluring singing voices. This class teaches you to swim confidently and elegantly just like a real mermaid or merman. For the session, you will be given a beautiful tail and monofin to complete your mermaid transformation. There is a maximum of 6 swimmers per class. Our sessions run for 60 minutes and we will cover a variety of activities including:

How to put on and take off a tail safely
Teaching a safe entry and exit of the pool
Learning how to swim in the monofin and tail skin
Playing fun-themed games
Practicing mermaid skills e.g. Bubble kisses, bubble rings and turns

Price: £45 per person (includes pool hire)

Swim Test

To take part in a session your child must be 18+ and also be able to do the following skills that will be tested at the beginning of each session:

Able to swim 25 meters competently on their front
Able to fully submerge their face unaided
Able to demonstrate lifting their knees and performing a full 360° rotation
Able to demonstrate treading water for 30 seconds
Able to demonstrate an undulating leg action (dolphin leg action) with the face submerged for five meters.

Safety

Safety is massively important to us so we unfortunately won't be able to allow participants to wear a monofin and tail if they don't pass the safety test. Our Mermaid tail skins are from Mertailor which is one of the world's largest companies in the mermaiding world. Our monofins are Mermaid Linden and are safely tested and recommended by the STA and Mermaids Swim UK. Once you are confident swimming in one of our tails and want to purchase your own we can help guide you and suggest safe tail makers. Once you have your tail and you are a confident swimmer you can join Sandbanks Merpod .
